SM-Trax are producers Stefan
Grunwald and Mirko Von Schlieffen, two DJs from Germany who decided
to form a group in 1997. With the addition of dancer Monya as a
visual front, they were off to score their first hit with Climb On
Top which sampled a Sweet Pussy Pauline track. They followed that up
with Show Me Something Special which also rocketed up the European
club charts. As their popularity increased, their demand as remixers
also increased. They worked on projects such as 2 Eivissa's Ooh La
La La, Scooter's The Age Of Love and Spacegirl's I Wanna Be... Their
sound was becoming popular with DJs everywhere.
In 1999, they released Got The Groove, which unquestionably became
their biggest hit ever. Topping the charts throughout Europe, it was
picked up by Groovilicious in the states and went all the way to # 1
on the Billboard Dance Charts. It became a dance anthem on radio
stations across the country, especially WKTU in New York City. SM-Trax
became a major club attraction, with numerous performances at major
clubs like Twilo in NYC. Follow-up singles ...Is Calling and At The
Club both became tremendous dance smashes overseas, as well as club
hits here in the states.
SM Trax, Greatest Hits - In Motion, is the first and only full
length album by SM-Trax. It includes all of their previous hits as
well as never before released material. It's a definite must-have
for any and all SM-Trax fans.
